Day 7 - NASA!
Today we got up very early to go by bus for 4 hours at 6:15AM. We arrived at NASA, Houston to find out that the V.I.P - tour we had been promised were not booked. This was a huge slap in the face for some who had been looking very much forward to this tour. So it gave a bit of a bad atmosphere. We took the normal tour though, which were pretty cool too:-)We got to see some cool things anyway:-) Our teachers felt really bad about it, but everything was booked. The tour was now shortened from 6 hours to 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Here are some pictures from NASA. First there were a bit of a Star Wars exhibition. The picture below is a star fighter used in the movie:
The sign beside it:
A couple of light sabers also used in the movies:
They had a lot of tanks which had this written on them:
Here are a real rocket, which has been launched:
Mission control, from Apollo missions:
Our bus driver was very nice and said he would drive us to an outlet if we liked before going to the hotel. We all agreed! - He took a special road through Houston, so we could get a chance to see some of the city. We took a lot of pictures since it was very different from Austin. The buildings were taller, and there were a lot of cool architecture! - Houston is a large city. There are living 5 million people, the same as in Denmark!

At the outlet:
We went to the outlet were i bought a pair of shoes(converse), which is about half the price compared to Denmark. That is the first thing besides food and a pair of flip-flops that i have bought here:-) Many of my classmates has spend thousands of kroner already!
Before going back to the bus i went to Starbucks to get a Frappucino:-P I would like for Starbucks to come to Denmark:-) (besides the two in Kastrup).
We then drove to the hotel, which we could easily see was more expensive than the one we are staying at in Austin:-P
We spend the evening watching some TV, and watching some of my class in the pool:-)
Conclusion: We got some experiences that we would not have gotten if we had been on the V.I.P - tour at NASA, so i am very satisfied with this great day!
